3 The Ordinary Oil for Skin and Hair Care

The skin, especially during the winter months when we spend more time indoors in a heated space, needs oil to maintain a healthy balance. Its deficiency makes the skin dry, which can lead to the appearance of small wrinkles, a feeling of skin tightness and irritation. The use of oil helps retain moisture in the skin and protects it from harmful external influences. The oils contain essential fatty acids, vitamins and antioxidants and are a perfect addition to anti-aging care because they strengthen the skin barrier, smooth out wrinkles, and act on hyperpigmentation and scarring. I use them in the evening, so I apply a few drops on a moisturizer or night mask, as the last step of an evening care routine. Dry skin will benefit the most from introducing oil into its care routine. Oils are emollients with occlusive properties, which means that they retain moisture, so always first apply humectants that will provide moisture to the skin (hyaluronic acid, glycerin, urea …) and only then oil. Most effective moisturizers contain both components, those that attract moisture and those that retain it. If a particular oil does not suit your facial skin, use it for hair care.
“B” oil
The Ordinary “B” oil contains purified microalgae extract, which soothes redness and hydrates, and is dissolved in a mixture of squalane (which strengthens the skin barrier and retains moisture in the skin) and natural oils of lettuce, argan, absinthe, baobab, pomegranate, borage, jojoba , patau, brazilian and Inca walnuts that soothe the skin and protect it from free radicals. It also contains bisabolol, an ingredient found naturally in chamomile essential oil, which has an anti-inflammatory and regenerative effect on the skin, and vitamin E, which is a powerful antioxidant.
It is pointed out on the bottle that the product is a daily formula intended for the care of all skin types, especially dehydrated. The Ordinary “B” oil helps hydrate the skin, evens out the complexion and gives a glow to tired skin and is recommended as part of anti-aging care. The essential fatty acids in the oils restore the skin barrier and thus provide intensive hydration, which in turn reduces wrinkles. Antioxidants protect against the effects of free radicals.
According to the manufacturer, this product is intended for all skin types, and indeed this oil does not greasy skin, it is not comedogenic, so, in my opinion, it can be used without fear by oily skin types.
Ingredients: Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil, Bisabolol, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil, Ethylhexyl Stearate, Isochrysis Galbana Extract, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Borago Officinala Seal Official Seed Oil, Oenocarpus Bataua Fruit Oil, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Bertholletia Excelsa Seed Oil, Solanum Lycopersicum (Tomato) Fruit Extract, Hydroxymethoxyphenyl Decanone, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Tocopherol.
It is applied to all water-based products, after hydration to “lock” moisture. I used 5-6 drops for the face and neck area.
It has a mild herbal scent, which is no longer felt when the product is applied to the skin and absorbed. It has a thick oily texture and a light green color. It rubs lightly into the skin, absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy shine. I recommend applying it in the evening, after the cream and / or serum or on a moisturizing night mask, and in the morning you will notice how soft and elastic your skin is. You can also add a few drops to the cream and thus enrich its composition. Of course, if you have dry and dehydrated skin, you can also use it in the morning and as a foundation for make-up, because the oily glow will not penetrate the liquid powder, but will give a barely noticeable glow.
Add oils to your skincare routine, selected according to your skin type and needs, and the results will delight you.

LITTLE OIL
Lettuce oil is a real discovery for me, especially from this producer, because the price of 75 kuna is really affordable. It is rich in omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins and in addition to the face, I also use it for hair. It helps retain moisture in the skin, and in combination with humectants effectively hydrates the skin, protects it from UV radiation and reduces dark spots.
The Ordinary contains 100% pure, cold-pressed virgin organic oil of lettuce fruit.
Lettuce oil is obtained from the fruit of the lettuce tree (Sclerocarya birrea), and there are two types, depending on which part of the fruit it is obtained from, from the seeds or from the shell.
Jojoba, tea tree, lettuce and squalane oils are suitable for oily and combination skin types and those prone to acne. They have a light texture, do not grease the skin and do not close the pores.
It revived my dry skin, I applied it in a variety of combinations. The combination in the evening routine proved to be the most successful for me, when I applied it after the moisturizing night cream. In the morning, my skin was soft, supple and supple.

ROD SEED OIL
The Ordinary Rose Hip oil contains 100 percent organic cold pressed rosehip seed oil (Rosa canina). Rosehip seed oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids: linoleic (omega 6), alpha-linolenic (omega 3) and oleic (omega 9). It contains carotenoids (natural pigments) and vitamins D, C, E and F.
It is golden in color and odorless. This oil is excellently absorbed, lightly spreads and gives the skin a glow. Its effect on scars, stretch marks and hyperpigmentation has been reported, but this has not been confirmed because the effect of rosehip seed oil on the skin is still poorly understood. I didn’t notice it acting on my dark spots, but it evened out my complexion and gave my skin a glow.
The oil has created a protective layer on the skin that prevents it from drying out by “locking in” the moisture and ingredients of the moisturizing products I previously applied. I applied a few drops in the evening after the cream or mixed with a night moisturizing mask. In the morning you will notice how soft and elastic your skin is. It can be used to care for damaged hair ends.
Although it is stated that it is for every skin type, I must mention that mine is dry and that almost all oils suit it instantly as they help it in hydration. I would recommend this oil for dry and mature skin as an addition to an anti-age routine.
The oil should be used within 6 months of opening and stored in a dark and cool place.
