My 3 favorite night oils

I use oils all year round and even in summer, my skin needs these few drops a day to maintain hydration, elasticity, and softness. Due to exposure to the sun, sea salt, wind, and chlorine from the pool, the skin has an increased need for hydration and due to its antioxidant properties, the oils help it fight free radicals.
The Body Shop – night serum / oil with vitamin E.
The Body Shop serum / oil is a blend of oils of natural origin (raspberry, jojoba, sunflower, almond and sesame oil) obtained by fare trade and serum enriched with vitamin E. It is one of the products from the cult The Body Shop line with vitamin E.
The manufacturer states that TBS serum in oil provides the skin with the benefits of vitamin E (antioxidant) from the serum and hydration provided by oils. This product provides 24-hour hydration and you wake up in the morning with soft, radiant, renewed and nourished skin. Can be used for all skin types.
Ingredients: Caprylic / Capric Triglyceride, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil / Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Oil / Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Glycine Soja Oil / Glycine Soja Oil / Seed Oil / Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil / Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Parfum / Fragrance, Rubus Idaeus Seed Oil / Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzyl Geraniol, Linalool, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Tocopherol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Cinnamyl Alcohol, Citral, Citric Acid.
The oil has a delicate and powdery scent (perfume) and, compared to other oils, has a lighter texture that spreads easily into the skin. It absorbs quickly and you won’t have to wait long for it to be absorbed into your skin before going to bed. I used it in the evening after cleansing the skin and cream because I always apply the oils on the skin of the face, neck and décolleté as the last step of the care routine. Since this product is a serum and oil, you can use it on a cleansed face before the cream (manufacturer’s recommendation) or as the last step of care, as I use it.
After a few days of use, in the morning after waking up, the skin is really noticeably softer and more elastic and nourished. After applying this oil, you will not have that feeling of “congestion” of the skin that can cause oils, but the skin will breathe freely.
If you want to use the oil in the summer because you need additional skin hydration and you are looking for its “lighter” variant, this combined 2in1 product is a good choice. Since it needs to be applied only a few drops once a day, it will take a long time.

Sunday Riley Luna
Sunday Riley Luna night oil is a bright blue color and thus attracts attention. The expressive blue color and the fact that the manufacturer points out that the product is with retinol interested me and drove me to buy. I have already used two Sunday Riley products, a glycolic acid treatment and an oil with vitamin C.
Good Genes serum with glycolic acid
oil with vitamin C and turmeric
The retinol highlighted on the package is actually HPR (Hydroxypinacolone Retionate) which is a new generation of retinoids, ie groups of vitamin A derivatives. HPR is an ester of retinoic acid and acts similarly to tretinoin (its strongest form), but with minimal or no side effects. No matter which form of retinoid you use, your skin can only use the active form of vitamin A, retinoic acid. The differences between HPR and retinol are that retinol goes through a few steps to be converted to retinoic acid, while HRP does not undergo complex conversion to retinoic acid because it binds directly to receptors. HPR is photostable, and tests have shown it to work on the skin for up to 15 hours. And it really didn’t cause me any irritation.
I used Luna oil in my evening care routine as her final step, due to its occlusive oil texture. After cleansing and toning my facial skin and applying a moisturizing serum and / or cream, I warmed up a few drops of oil between my fingers and dipped it into my facial and neck skin after the previous treatment was completely absorbed into the skin. After application, the blue paint is quickly absorbed and disappears.
With this product you really will not feel any common side effects of retiniode use (dry skin, redness, irritation, itching …) and this is the perfect product for those who are just starting to use retinol.
Luna oils will even out and brighten the complexion and hydrate the skin, I have not noticed any other more pronounced changes. It had no effect on reducing wrinkles or hyperpigmentation. As I stated, I had high expectations from this product which is solid but will not do what I expected from a retinol product. Free of parabens, alcohol, gluten and ingredients of animal origin.

Paula’s Choice CBD oil with retinol
According to the manufacturer, Paula’s Choice CBD oil fights the signs of aging, soothes and smoothes the skin and evens out the complexion. Soothes stressful, reactive skin and has anti-aging effects.
The CBD and retinol in this oil complement each other to prevent the signs of aging and reduce the visibility of existing ones. CBD soothes skin that reacts to external stressors, and retinol acts on the signs of aging, giving the skin a younger and smoother look. The oil also contains a mixture of natural squalane and hydrating triglycerides.
Paula’s Choice oil contains cannabidiol (150 mg) obtained from the highest quality parts of industrial hemp plants (proven to have less than 0.2% THC) which is then mixed with nutritious vegetable oils. The second main ingredient is retinol (0.5%), a powerful anti-aging ingredient that regenerates the skin, smoothes wrinkles, has antioxidant properties and reduces the effects of sun damage. It also contains hemp seed oil, which is grown sustainably and is a rich source of omega fatty acids. It contains hemp oil, white limnante, squalane, triglycerides, soybean oil, borage, radish, blue flax, sunflower seeds, cannabidiol, retinol, cantela asiatica, white wolf oil, vitamin E and water.
I applied a few drops on my face and neck once a day, mostly in the evening after cleansing, toning and exfoliating. Given the oil texture, I had no need to apply additional products after it, so I ended my evening care routine with it. Even during the first days of use, it did not cause any irritation and the skin tolerates it very well. After two weeks of use, I noticed softer and hydrated skin, cleaner pores, lightened complexion, markedly dry areas on the cheeks completely disappeared, and generally healthier and more beautiful looking skin.
I believe that the oil is a great choice for those who are just starting to use retinol because CBD will soothe the skin and prevent possible side effects of retinol, and vegetable oils provide hydration to the skin. The scent is herbal and the texture is oily and light green in color. During the day it is necessary to use high sun protection. The price is high, but a bottle of oil can last a long time, especially if you apply it only in the evening and enough 2-3 drops.
