Favorites: REN shower gel

REN energizing shower gel from algae and magnesium extract thrilled me on first use. There are more reasons for this, from its clean composition, the spa atmosphere it currently provides and its 100% recyclable packaging. I immediately noticed the grayish color of the packaging and found out on their website that it contains 20% recycled plastic from the ocean which is darker and hence the color of the bottle. The pump is also plastic, not metal, so the whole product can be completely recycled. In the sea of products offered to us in the market, I try to support companies with such a sustainable and aware business management model.
Ren shower gel is sulfate-free, contains Atlantic algae extract and magnesium PCA for skin care, smoothing and toning. Algae are a source of minerals, Pca magnesium helps hydration, and a mixture of extract and oil of sage, cypress, geranium and rosemary gives the gel a fresh scent and energizing effect. They contain glycerin, panthenol and lecithin (phospholipid).
SLS or sodium laureth sulfate is one of the most commonly used surfactants (foams) in cosmetic products due to its low production cost. Although it is effective in removing impurities and grease, it can cause irritations, allergic reactions, and dryness and itching of the skin and scalp. Steam during the shower accelerates the absorption of chemicals into the body and encourages the evaporation of chemicals that we inhale, so you should always check the ingredients of the products we use.
Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Lauryl Glucoside, Decyl Glucoside, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Glyceryl Laurate, Inulin, Magnesium PCA, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Salvia sclarea ( Clary Sage) Extract, Coconut Acid, Cupressus Sempervirens (Cypress) Leaf / Stem Extract, Panthenol, Parfum * (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Laminaria Digitata Extract, Citric Acid, Sucrose, Sodium Levulinate, Plankton Extract, Leclolin, Cit , Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool (* 100% Natural Fragrance)
The price is quite high if we take into account the prices of most shower gels, but if you want an almost spa experience in everyday washing and knowing that the composition is completely safe for health (and the environment), then the price is justified. It takes a little product and the amount of 300 ml will last you quite a while. Since I have dry body skin and use dermatological washing products (oils, syndet) bought in the pharmacy in winter, I was initially suspicious of this gel, thinking that it would further dry my skin and that it could not compete with these products. However, it did not dry out my skin at all, nor did I have a feeling of tightness and itching after use, but it nourished it and in addition, it smelled wonderful.
Also, it leaves no marks on the tub so you won’t have to bother with washing it after each shower.
