Clarins Double Serum

Double two-phase serum is the best-selling Clarins anti-age serum (one is reportedly sold every 8 seconds in the world) which, according to the manufacturer, acts on all visible signs of skin aging, ie stimulates five vital skin functions that achieve youthful skin appearance. It is said that the serum smoothes wrinkles, stimulates skin renewal, evens out the complexion, restores skin radiance and mattifies it. The unique two-phase serum formula is inspired by the double, watery and oily nature of the skin. Clarins’ innovation contains the perfect ratio of water-soluble and oil-soluble ingredients similar to the skin’s hydrolipid film. Contains as many as 21 herbal extracts to firm, smooth and enhance skin radiance.
Herbal extracts
The serum contains many plant extracts, each of which already has a well-known effect on the skin. Turmeric acts on all visible signs of skin aging, banana extracts, forest combs and oats stimulate regeneration, visibly firms and lifts the skin and fights wrinkles and fine lines. A mixture of avocado, mango and kiwi extracts softens and nourishes the skin, and the so-called leaf extract. plant life (Kalanchoe pinnata), native to Madagascar, enhances the skin’s natural hydration. The combination of karst fruit, goji berries and wild chestnut energizes, removes toxins and restores skin radiance.
Extracts of red coral algae (Jania rubens) and orthosyphon help remove dead skin cells, visibly purify the skin texture and mattify it. Cocoa, eelgrass and ginger soothe the skin and fight free radicals. Quinoa supports the natural skin barrier.

It contains glycerin, triglycerides, artificial fragrance, phenoxyethanol, many plant extracts and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Herbal extracts come in a small proportion, less than 1% (on the list of ingredients they are behind phenoxyethanol which is not allowed in a concentration higher than 1%), which calls into question their effectiveness when contained in such a small proportion. The exception is Dipsacus sylvestris extract, and caramel is added to the serum due to its natural brown color and artificial red.
It is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive, although high on the list of ingredients is a perfume that can irritate sensitive skin and cause its reaction. You can use it alone or with a day cream by applying a few drops on your fingertips, mixing the two phases and then dabbing into the skin of the face and neck. You can use the dispenser on the pump to determine whether you want to squeeze a larger or smaller amount of product.
The serum gives the skin a glow and it looks shiny and healthy and is soft and elastic to the touch. It has a light texture, it is not too oily as I assumed, but it spreads easily. It leaves no greasy residue and is quickly absorbed, giving the skin a discreet glow. However, it is not nourishing enough for dry skin, that is, even though I used the cream after it, I did not get a feeling of deep hydration, but it remained on the surface of the skin. If you overdo it and apply a few drops too much, your face will look oily and glow, so I’m not sure how it works on oily and combination skin, given that it’s also my oily dry.
It proved to be the best when used in the morning, before the liquid powder, which gave it a light glow and increased skin hydration so that the powder would not fall into wrinkles and dry out the skin. It has a strong scent of perfume which, however, did not bother me. Although Clarins is a high end brand, so I expected its high price, it is definitely too high for what the serum offers, both in action and composition. It will hydrate the skin and give it a glow but I have not noticed a significant effect on wrinkles or face lifting. Also, the skin will not even matte. For less money you can find much better serums.
