The cream for the care of the area around the eyes serves to prevent the appearance of wrinkles in the outer corner of the eye, the so-called. crow’s feet, since the skin of that area is thinner and the first to show signs of aging (wrinkles and wrinkles), it is necessary to use high spf protection, wear sunglasses regularly, and prescription glasses if necessary, reduce smoking or even better stop, hydrate the skin of that area and use quality care (retinol, hyaluronic acid, antioxidants…).
Kiehl’s vitamin serum
Kiehl’s Powerful-Strength Line-Reducing & Dark Circle-Diminishing Vitamin C Eye Serum eye cream attracted me with 10 percent vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that, among other things, whitens dark circles, peptides that act on collagen and consequently on skin firmness and hyaluronic acid that fills wrinkles.
So, three excellent anti-aging ingredients whose individual effectiveness (vitamin C) has been clinically proven. According to the manufacturer, the serum works on brown under-eye circles (they can be caused by hyperpigmentation and darken after sun exposure) and blue under-eye circles (they are associated with puffiness and water retention). The appearance of dark circles is a complex problem and depends on several factors: genetics, lifestyle, hours of sleep, exposure to the sun… The serum also smooths lines and wrinkles, reduces the puffiness of the area around the eyes and gives a glow.
The texture of the serum is thick, spreads easily and is quickly absorbed into the skin. It is orange in color because of the vitamin C in its composition. It is applied in the morning and in the evening by dabbing a small amount of the product with your fingers on a clean area around the eyes. It leaves a silky layer on the skin and does not irritate the eyes.
Contains glycerin, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), silicones.
The price is high, like most Kiehl’s products, but a small amount of serum is required, so the bottle will last you months. I did not notice a significant and immediate effect on the dark circles (can it be a cosmetic product?), maybe because they are not too pronounced for me, but you will notice that after long-term use, it will slightly lighten the area around the eyes, hydrate it and give it softness. Small wrinkles are less visible after applying the serum, and I liked the feeling of additional hydration of the skin around the eyes. Kiehl’s serum showed a lot of promise, however, it is still only average, and at this, but also more favorable price, you can find more effective creams and serums.

The Ordinary caffeine & EGCG serum
In The Ordinary product line, the only one that exclusively treats the eye area is the Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG cream for the care of the eye area. This treatment contains caffeine in a concentration of 5% and purified epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) obtained from green tea leaves, which is a powerful antioxidant. According to the manufacturer, the serum whitens dark circles and reduces puffiness around the eyes.
Independent studies have shown that topical use of caffeine and EGCG can help reduce puffiness around the eyes and dark circles. The manufacturer correctly excludes himself from effective action in these two cases:
1. when a cavity in the contour of the eye, which is the result of the structure of subcutaneous tissues such as fat and bone, results in visible shadows under the eyes. These shadows, which should not be changed with under-eye circles, cannot be affected by this product
2. when fat deposits under the contour create permanent swelling. This type of build-up cannot be improved by skin care, including this product.
The treatment contains 5% caffeine, glycerin, EGCG, hyaluronic acid, melanin, soy extract, urea, lactic acid and phenoxyethanol. Caffeine stimulates microcirculation and has an antioxidant effect. It does not contain silicone, oil, perfume or alcohol, and due to the sensitivity of EGCG to light, the serum is packaged in a dark glass bottle. The texture is extremely light and gel-like and is instantly absorbed into the skin, providing a short-term effect of slight cooling. It does not leave a sticky layer on the skin, but dries it out and does not provide hydration.
The skin around my eyes is dry and this serum additionally contributed to the feeling of dryness of the skin, so I had to combine it with moisturizing creams. It is recommended that it be applied to clean and toned skin, before moisturizing. I did not notice the effect on my dark circles, however, they were not pronounced, but I noticed that in the morning, after a short time after application, it still barely perceptibly tightened my skin and reduced puffiness.
It is applied by dabbing a few drops of the serum with the cheekbones of the fingers in the morning and evening on the clean skin of the area around the eyes, in the direction from the outside of the eye to the inside. A very small amount of product is needed (1-2 drops) and the bottle will last you for months.
After two months of use, I did not notice the effect on the dark circles, but I did notice the puffiness, especially if I woke up swollen in the morning. So I can’t say that anything “doesn’t work” but that you will see immediate significant results, you won’t. On the Internet, I also came across the possibility of applying the serum to the whole face or mixed with a moisturizing cream, in order to tighten the skin and reduce puffiness, but I did not try it because I do not want to further dry the skin. The serum did not cause any eye irritation or redness in that area.
Like all The Ordinary products, this one is also reasonably priced, so if you struggle with dark circles around the eyes and puffiness, give it a try, it might suit you better.

Sisley Black Rose fluid
Sisley Black Rose fluid cream for the care of the area around the eyes with its practical applicator cools the skin around the eyes, fills wrinkles, reduces the visibility of dark circles, gives an instant lift and whitens the skin. It is also applied to the eyelids, so you gently massage and stimulate the microcirculation of the entire area around the eyes. Black Sisley cream contains glycerin, antioxidants, microalgae, rose extract, brown algae (peacock tail), shea butter, jojoba oil, caffeine…
The cream has a thick and dewy texture, spreads easily and absorbs quickly. It leaves a light moisturizing layer, optimally enough that my skin is hydrated and that I don’t feel the skin around the eyes tightening. I like that my area is always soft and nourished because then wrinkles are less visible, and I don’t feel that new ones are forming due to dry skin.
The cream has a high price, as does the entire Black Rose line, and after all, all the products of the French premium brand Sisley. The application applicator is excellent, practical and cools and drains well. The cream lasts a long time, I used it every day for about 3 months, it moisturized the skin well, it whitened it slightly, and when I applied it in the morning, it visibly reduced puffiness around the eyes. It did not cause any irritation to my eyes. I didn’t notice the effect on the dark circles, but I don’t have them either.
The cream is solid, has a wonderful natural and delicate rose scent, does what it says, and it is a personal matter whether you want to spend this amount on the cream and whether cheaper creams have a similar or the same effect as this one.

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Gel Cream
Caudalie eye cream is positioned on the market as clean and natural, and they proudly point out that they are pioneers in the use of resveratrol as an active ingredient in cosmetics. Resveratrol is a powerful natural antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals and UV radiation, evens the complexion, reduces skin redness and hydrates it. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect.
Resveratrol-Lift cream for the care of the eye area is part of the Resveratrol-Lift line and works on wrinkles, filling and smoothing them, puffiness and dark circles. When it comes to creams for the care of the area around the eyes, I always like them to be nourishing, because many creams only dry out my skin, and I’m always afraid to “congest” the area too much because of the fear of milia. The cream contains quinoa extract, which has the effect of tightening and reducing puffiness. In addition to the area around the eyes, it is also used for the lip area. It is applied twice a day, in the morning and in the evening, by patting it into the skin.
The cream is easily spread and absorbed and gives a feeling of cooling and slight tightening. However, it also nourishes the area around the eyes and it remains nourished for a long time. It does not contain artificial fragrance, so it can be used by people with sensitive eyes. The packaging is excellent, the tube has a narrow applicator that allows for dosed use of the product and prevents its contamination.
This is one of those creams after which you will really see changes in the area around the eyes; wrinkles are filled, puffiness is reduced and the skin is refreshed and brightened. I will buy this cream again.

Glow Recipe Avocado Night Mask
Glow Recipe night mask with avocado and retinol for eye care is the second product of this American brand that I have tried. The founders of the brand are two American women of Korean origin who want to bring the benefits of well-known Korean care to women around the world with their products. I have already written about the brand Glow Recipe, specifically about their soothing and moisturizing banana cream.
Night masks for the face have been very popular in recent years, so it was only a matter of time before a night mask for the eye area appeared on the market. Night masks, both for the face and eyes, can also be used during the day.
According to the manufacturer, the Glow Recipe night mask with avocado and retinol, with its encapsulated ingredients, works during the night to nourish and whiten the skin, reducing fine lines and puffiness around the eyes.
Retinol in the composition always attracts my attention due to its strong and proven anti-ageing effect, as well as avocado due to the fact that it acts as an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and soothes and nourishes the skin. The cream immediately struck me as a good combination of ingredients for the care of that sensitive area.
In addition to encapsulated retinol (released gradually over time) that tightens and soothes and avocado oil and extract, it also contains many other excellent ingredients: niacinamide, hyaluronic acid that hydrates and fills, coffee extract that stimulates microcirculation, shea butter, aloe vera, safflower oil , lavender extract and rosemary leaf. Hexylresorcinol in the composition reduces hyperpigmentation and whitens dark circles.
However, the mask contains artificial fragrance and phenoxyethanol. On their website, they state that they do not use more than 0.5% of artificial fragrances, added only for a better sensory experience, and they are all tested without PCM (polycyclic musks) and linalool.
It is applied in the evening on cleansed skin, after cleansing and tonic, and before serum and/or cream by dabbing a small amount of the mask on the area around the eyes. The mask has a thick texture, but it spreads easily and small amounts of the product are enough. The mask is left to work overnight and washed off in the morning. You can also use it as a daily mask, in the morning after waking up to reduce puffiness. Apply the mask and leave it on for about 10 minutes, then remove and apply a cream with a protective factor. The smell is fresh and fruity.
Immediately after application, a slight tightening of the skin is felt. Eye creams are always a concern for me because my eyes are sensitive, but this mask didn’t irritate my eyes at all. After a few days of application, the skin around the eyes is tighter and brighter, with less visible dark circles.
The manufacturer states that the mask also works on milia, white small bumps on the face, similar to pimples, which often appear around the eyes because the skin there is thin and sensitive and because the skin in that area does not contain oil glands. They are allegedly caused by excessive sun exposure and improper makeup removal. Retinol is one of the ingredients that has been proven to remove them, along with mild acids in chemical peels.
